request for Exile-Meeting from Lhasa - 2008/11/19 08:58 By an annonymous letter to the meeting in dharamsala

" My point is that as part of any sort of negotiations of initial agreement, a priority should be given to the possibilities of exile Tibetans traveling to Tibet. It is very important that Tibetans outside Tibet take an interest in visiting Tibet, and if possible working in Tibet, setting up projects or businesses inside Tibet.

In particular in the areas close to the Chinese areas, the climate is more relaxed and Tibetans can achieve a lot. Because Tibetans from outside Tibet are generally well educated, are well informed and are very broad-minded, they have a tremendously positive impact on the community inside Tibet.

They can influence local people, not engage in politics. In this way they can keep the cause alive."

Listen to the voice of Tibet??????????

Re:request for Exile-Meeting from Lhasa - 2008/11/19 17:02 Dear Gangchen,
from Lhasa ?
I think you are the one who posted this long letter on ICT ...
If I may say so, as non-Tibetan, exiled Tibetans do take great interest to what is going on in Tibet, no doubt about that. They cry, too.
But I guess it is not easy for them to even get a visa to enter Tibet.
So what would be your concrete suggestions : That exiled Tibetans apply for a "working permit " in their own homeland, issued by the Chinese government ? Do you think this is a good idea, or even realistic ?
I would absolutely agree with you that more Tibetans should have their own business and projects within Tibet, so how come this is not already working with Tibetans who never left Tibet ?
You seem to be an educated man, travelling the world. How about encouraging and supporting your fellow Tibetans to start their own business now, in Tibet ?
But this doesn`t appear to be that easy, as long as Tibetans in Tibet are not permitted to be what they are : Tibetans.
I wonder what your concrete suggestions would be.
Wishing you all the best and success.
Evi
